Trip 4
Date: September 17, 2014
Partner: Natalie

Natalie wanted to practice trad leading, and I wanted to go up the 2nd as safe as possible. Win, Win! Her route started at the base by the trail (instead of slightly uphill to the right) on some fairly smooth rock. It then took the line over on the left side that felt a lot stouter than I remembered. Of course, this could just be from years going by. But I didn't remember a lot of what we climbed, so it was good to be on a rope for this section. Especially for the minor bulge feature!

By the second pitch, I was starting to recognize a few features to my right, but still not a lot. By the time I got to the top of the 2nd pitch, I recognized it as the bypass for the jump. So previously, I had gone up the gully feature, not the left face feature. Ok! Memory is returning.

So I show Natalie the bypass, and soon find ourselves under the jump, where we once again pitch it out to the top. I did forget the slightly scary knife edge exposure section just before the top. Made it to the summit for a nice sunset!
